We went to the Zoo today. It was fun. I got to touch a Python, shake a Monkey's hand, touch a Wildabeast's horn, hold a Crocodile, and pet a Lion Cub of 7 months. I wasn't being sarcastic when I said it was fun. I got to see Ostrich, fully grown Lions, Egyptian Cranes, all kinds of birds, Black Mamba, other snakes, Hyenas, Elands, Antelope, Gazelles, and Baboons.
My issues with Eland is that if first learned about them while watching anime, so I can't say the name with an American accent unless I try. It's funny, but annoying.
Anyway, the Zoo was loads of fun, and half the stuff in there scared me in one way or another. Maybe it was because the guide kept explaining what we needed to do if we met one outside the zoo? For Lions: hold still, don't move. For Wildabeast: stay upright, never bend over. For Black Mamba: you'll be dead in less than an hour - half an hour is the average. FUUUUUUUNNNNNNN......
Anyway, the power was out for most of the day today. Part of it was that the power was actually out, and the other part of it was that we ran out of Luku at some point. All the power here is pre-paid instead of a bill, so if you run out of Luku, the power shuts off immediately. Then you have to buy more, punch in the code, and your power is back on. So either we ran out of Luku, and the power went out for everyone else later, or our power went off at the same time as everyone else, and we ran out of Luku when it came back on: while we were at the zoo. Who knows? Doesn't change the fact that our power was off from 3 in the morning to 8 in the evening.
We got back from the zoo, and took a siesta waiting for the power to come back. In less than an hour, we were both in nothing but our garments sweating like pigs, waiting for the torture to be over, but it never ended. So we went and emailed home. We came back, and I called home while mopping the floors. It was fun.
...
I use the word fun so much, not even I can tell when I'm being sarcastic. Fun.

Cool, we got to teach a lesson to a guy who was two and a half hours late. Fun. I was extremely annoyed at first (maybe a little hangry too), but when we met him and learned the reason, I let go of my anger pretty quick. The guy lives out in Tandale, and he came here by bike. That. Is. Far. If I wanted to get to Tandale by bus it would take a little over an hour with mild traffic. Maybe more, I might have to take two busses from where I live.
Anyway, we taught the guy, and explained the idea of "different Missionaries" to him, so he'll be taught by the Mwenge Sisters now: Rambau and Pires. I'll admit, it seems like it'll be a tough one. He's a Seventh Day Adventist, so his beliefs are similar enough at a glance that he could take the "why do I need to change approach." We could already see the beginning of that issue when he brought up baptism. I wish all luck to the sisters. He's a nice guy though.
We also taught S.Neria today, B.Kevin's little sister. She has accepted baptism (which is something she's already told us she wants), and she is scheduled for the 28th of July. She's also understanding really well. We asked her to explain her understanding for the priesthood, and I had to give her a fistbump for how well she explained it.
Overall, a good day, my restaurant opened up again today as well, so I'm pretty happy. Didn't have time for lunch though. Oh well, there'll be Thursday for that.

We went to Kinondoni for a "ZDM" instead of "DDM." It was alright. We talked about covenants, and learned that Sister Shirtliff is very passionate about getting people to the temple.
After hearing her, and thinking about it more, I'm having a "that's how my attitude should be" moment. If I could get that passionate about getting people to the temple, I might have kept some of the Investigators who've disappeared on me. Food for thought.
Anyway, we didn't do anything else today.

Okay, I might as well come clean on what actually happened on Wednesday. We headed back to the flat early because E.Mathemera was sick and miserable. I haven't updated since then because I also got sick. It was bad enough we gave each other blessings and everything. After all that I had no energy or motivation to write anything. It wasn't fun. I'm still dealing with some lingering symptoms of my illness.
Saturday night was interesting though. We got transfer news, and nobody was expecting what happened. They closed my area. My companion and I are being sent to two different areas in Nairobi. My new area's name is "Lucky Summer 1" and my new comp's name is "Elder Kanda." Elder Amegakpoe told me he's from DRC. That's all I know.
So today was all farewells and stuff. Nothing too interesting, but I did get a few pictures.
